Geometry- week 4 maths sample

During Maths week (week 4), we have been focussing on Geometry. We had a choice of 10 different Geometry based activities. We needed to select 5 different activities and provide evidence when completed.

The evidence I collected:

What I enjoyed about this maths week was:
I enjoyed the maths question's at the start of the day because I was working well with all of the other students to work out the questions. Also the different maths rotations was fun.

What I challenged during this week doing:
The angle worksheets were quite hard at some points but Mr Henderson helped us out on that and then we completed them.

My next step in Geometry is:
Angles. I am not that great at figuring out different angles. But I am working on this.

Weekly Reflection- Week 3/4

Something I enjoyed from week 3 and 4:
Throughout the last 2 weeks we had a few events on. One of these that I enjoyed was maths week. Some of the things that we did in maths week was class questions which we narrowly can third 1 point off getting 1st. Another thing that we did was we had a different maths programme with this we completed activities and we had to have 5 by the end of the week.
Something that challenged me during week 3 and 4:
Working well with my friends really distracted me because I got really distracted at times and this nearly lead to unfinished work. But in the end I was lucky and I caught up on everything.
A value I have been showing consistently and how:
Reflect. With this I have Reflected on my writing especially my 1960's writing. But also in Maths. With this I have been rewarded with a values and beliefs certificate.
A value that I think I need to improve on and how:
Responsibility. With this it is because I have not completed work to deadline. I will work on this next week.

Breakdown of Rainfall in Christchurch between 10-17 of June

But why would there be so much rainfall in the past week? Just think it is the middle of winter. My theory behind so much rain 65mm to be exact is because Christchurch in the winter is a very cold and miserable place to be, unlike other city's on the other side of the world. This is because we are so much further away from the equator than these other city's. Also when it rains in Christchurch it just keeps on raining and it feels like it never stops.

Weekly Reflection - Week 1/2

Week 1/2 - Reflection

Some work I am proud of…
I am proud of my writing about a suspect in mind for a crime in the wet room. The suspect that I think it could have been is Miss Bayliss. This is because she has bright red lip stick and there was a red lip stick stain on a cup. She also wears converse and there was a converse tread mark on the ground.
Something that has challenged me this week is…
I got challenged with my reading astle test. This was very challenging because I had to do a lot more reading than what I am used and I had to go back and re-read.
A school value that I have worked hard at achieving this week is…
I have done very good at respect as I have been respectful on the mat and in my groups. An example of this is on the mat when people around me are talking I would ask them respectfully.
A school value that I need to work on is…
I need to work hard on being brave because I am not really trying anything new. I will try to work on this in the next few weeks.
This fortnights Tōtara goal was Behaviour Matrix and I achieved/showed this by...
I showed this very well because I stayed in the green for most of the rime but sometimes I let it slip and went into the yellow.
What is my personal goal for next week?
Next week I would like to do the weekly goal really well?

Week 11 reflection

Tōtara Weekly Reflection
Term:1               Week:11

Some work I am proud of…
Is our passion project because we have taken our time to complete it. I think that by doing this it lead to a quality peace of work. For this we made to cooking books of recipes that we have used and also a poster of the different recipes.
Here is my Personal Inquiry …

Reflecting on my Inquiry, I have …
Done well with my inquiry because we spent a while on it deciding on what we were going to create. We ended up creating a board game which was quality. I think that next time we should have planned it first.
Here is my Passion Project …
cooking with the pros. We created a cook book of all the recipes that we used. With doing this we also created a poster.
Reflecting on my Passion Project, I have …
Done well on my passion project because we took our time to create a good peace of work. Something to work on is using our time wisely
Reflecting on my term, I have …
Done well this term because I have got a end of term certificate this is because I have done well in all subjects. Another thing that I think that I have done well at is maths. In maths I have challenged myself. One thing to work is not getting distracted.
In the holidays, I am doing…
Not much. I am doing a basketball tournament called S.I.P.T. This is a three day tournament in which I am representing North Canterbury for. I am also doing A cricket batting camp.

Weekly Reflection Week 9

Tōtara Weekly Reflection
Term: 1              Week:9

Some work I am proud of… (add evidence and a brief explanation)
I am proud of the way that I have been doing my writing. This is because I have been completing it to a high standard by using lots of language features and descriptive language. The teachers and Mitch have seen me doing this.
Here is my Mihi Art … (Picture)

What is my personal goal for next week?
Next week I would like to set a good example for others. I will try to do this by sitting on the mat nicely and not talking when the teacher is. Also working independently by myself or with one or two others. This will also help me complete my work.
This fortnights Tōtara goal is responding appropriately and I achieved/showed this by…
I achieved this goal by doing whatever the teacher says when the teacher asks. Also whenever something doesn't go my way I respect it.
Between now and the end of term what do I need to do on my passion project?
Mitch and I are going to create one or two more pieces of food and then we will make a slide show on what we have doon over the term.

term 1 week 8 reflection

Tōtara Weekly Reflection
Term:1              Week:8

Some work I am proud of…
the way that I have been working sensibly and working with the right people. I think that with me doing this it has lead to me completing my work on time.
Something I need to improve on is…
Quality in my work. I thin k that although I have been working well I don't think that it is to the highest quality. My last week’s personal goal last week was…
to make good choices with who I work with.
I achieved this this it by...
Making sure that I work with the right people and also if someone was distracting me then I would move away.
What is my personal goal for next week?
I think that next week I would like to try my hardest in Reading. I will try to do this by concentrating the whole time instead of most of the time
This fortnights Tōtara goal is responding appropriately and I achieved/showed this by...
responding appropriately whenever the teacher o anyone asks a question of me.
